Guest artist Jeremy Kittel is fluent in a variety of styles, including fiddle, Celtic, classical, jazz, and bluegrass. A former member of the groundbreaking Turtle Island String Quartet, he will join the WSU Symphony in an eclectic program ranging from “Ashokan Farewell,” featured in the PBS miniseries The Civil War, to Stones River, his own concerto based on American folk songs. The concert opens with Ring O Bells! by James Ra, a contemporary American composer of Korean heritage.
